There is this old joke:
A terrible storm came into a town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately.
A man heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to himself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.”
The neighbors came by his house and said to him, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But the man declined. “I have faith that God will save me.”
As the man stood on his porch watching the water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe paddled by and called to him, “Hurry and come into my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!” But the man again said, “No thanks, God will save me.”
The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into his living room and the man had to retreat to the second floor. A police motorboat came by and saw him at the window. “We will come up and rescue you!” they shouted. But the man refused, waving them off saying, “Use your time to save someone else! I have faith that God will save me!”
The flood waters rose higher and higher and the man had to climb up to his rooftop.
A helicopter spotted him and dropped a rope ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder and pleaded with the man, “Grab my hand and I will pull you up!” But the man STILL refused, folding his arms tightly to his body. “No thank you! God will save me!”
Shortly after, the house broke up, the floodwaters swept the man away and he drowned.
You Didn’t Save Me
When he arrived in Heaven, the man stood before God and asked, “I put all of my faith in You. Why didn’t You come and save me?”
And God said, “I sent you a warning, a car, a canoe, a motorboat, an a helicopter. What more were you looking for?”
So often, I have watched clients, friends and family turn away resources from the Universe/Divine because they don’t arrive in the form they anticipated or expected. How often have you looked for a sign from the Divine to make sure you were on the right path or if you should take that leap? All while the signs and resources were right in front of you in the form of a human to create a miracle.
Are You Neglecting Your Human Resources
We tend to neglect our human resources, but can you guess one of the main ways the Divine and Universe support you? Yes, it’s through the little worker bees called humans. How do you begin to notice and open up to all the human resources that the Divine is offering you?
You open up your safety around being vulnerable
When you are vulnerable you are allowing yourself to expose your true essential nature. Vulnerability removes the masks you might be hiding behind. This allows you to be seen and to see all the human resources at your disposal.
You stop looking for love in all the wrong places
Patterns are like time loops. You can’t stop them until you step out of them. Are you looking for support in places where deep inside you know you won’t receive it? It’s time to step out of that loop, stop seeking support and start knowing it is there for the receiving. You let go of the old and welcome in the new
I believe in loyalty and courage. These are admirable traits which, in some cases, can prevent me from expanding. What are you holding onto with the death grip of control that isn’t allowing you to accept the resources of the Divine and allow more miracles in your life?
