I have been struggling. Over what you might ask? Well, really over nothing. Over the fact that I feel frustrated, tired, unfilled, incomplete, alone…you know all the human things that everyone can feel a hundred times a day but that the Spiritually-minded judge.
What I realized (with some guidance from the Divine and my Divine supporters) as I listened to the lyrics of BAD by U2 (see below), is that I have been trying to build a better ME! What I’m realizing across the board is that there is so much hype to build a better YOU! I feel like we tend to miss the boat because of the hype. I’m wide awake*.
I don’t have to build a better me (and you don’t have to build a better YOU!), because the more I focus on my Soul, I don’t exist. The Divine exists and the experience of that exists. All Spirituality does is help me on that path to navigate that “being” gracefully. I still have to feel all of it. I still have to experience all of it.
Spirituality and spiritual tools help me to Surrender*, Dislocate*.
There are no words for this deeper connection and nothingness of you. What I can tell you is that this nothingness scares the hell out of people. It confronts our humanity and we feel threatened of not being an individual. We are afraid that we will fade away. The experience of being in this connection is the exact opposite of all those fears.
No one has the answers. They just have tools. I sincerely invite you into the nothingness. I invite you to stop building a better you. The awareness is not out there…it is within, deeply within the nothingness. I believe connection is the way to be in the nothingness…Tools give you the power to know you are safe. Let it go. Be wide awake!
