Recently an individual wrote to me the following: “…I didn’t come here to be liked, I came here to work, right?”
I was in my car at a stop signing reading it and this statement was so profound to me, that I didn’t know the light had changed until everyone started honking.
The individual was talking about her current work situation, but I felt the Universe opening up in that sentence.
Ready! I believe that we do “come here” to be liked. Well, actually I believe we come here to be loved. Actually, we all came here to experience LOVE.
To experience that deep love of ourselves. That feeling of knowing and being without judgment for yourself. It’s the feeling you get riding on the back of a motorcycle with the wind in your hair on a really sunny day.
Humans have unbelievable amounts of strength and compassion. We can often misinterpret what the Universe is telling us. This Universal message of love comes out needing to be of service (work) for others so badly that we often forget to be of true service to ourselves. That doesn’t mean grabbing the last piece of pie for yourself. That means creating the space for true expression, true voice, self-love, self-care and that will naturally extend out to everyone on the planet
This self-love is a big topic. It goes way beyond taking care of your day-to-day needs. It reaches far and deep. If you are in the pattern of worrying all the time, you are stepping out of unconditional love for yourself. If you are critical of yourself, you are stepping out of love for yourself. I don’t want you to be a watchdog for love. All I’m suggesting is that you start to show yourself more compassion and see where it all goes from there. Let love lead the way.
