When we were little we would get gold stars for being good, for completing projects and for just being us. This form of love and validation can have a positive impact and also set up a pattern of always looking outside one’s self for love and approval. I believe that loving ourselves through another person’s eyes can really impact our receiving and abundance.
Isn’t about time that you stop relying on others to fill your love quota and start filling it yourself?
Practical Tool
Notice your word choices. Are you using empowering words or dis-empowering words? Start to notice your inner dialogue. You might want to jot down some of the common words you use to describe yourself to others and in your own head.
Exercise
Take a deep breath and allow your awareness to settle into your tailbone. Set the intention to connect to your Tone or Personality Language. If your Tone hasn’t been identified yet, ask Divine Intelligence to make that connection for you. Here’s the question that is going to facilitate a conversation between you and your Soul:
In what area of my life can I show myself love?
Now that you have an area, you also want an action step, something practical thing that you can do to love yourself in this area. So that is another question to ask. Focus on your tailbone and connect with your Tone.
What practical action can I take to show myself love in this area?
It is up to you to move forward with love in this action. I suggest you write that action step on a card and place it in your calendar or a book you are reading so when you come across it you are reminded to take action for yourself.
